The recording from this week is now on the teach track website at http://www.cleeveharmony.u3a-evesham.org.uk/recs.php (we now have our own link to the site rather than using the VC link). I'm really impressed by it considering this was only our 5th week and just our 2nd week singing that song, although there are some niggles. Rather than listing them myself, I'd be interested to hear what you all think of the recording and your specific part within it - obviously you can't hear yourself, but you should be able to pick out the bass part, the bari part etc. Please don't put any personal comments (eg Jane Smith was too loud... I don't think we have a Jane Smith, do we?), but comments such as "I couldn't hear the bari part during the final "I love you" are fine.
On a general point, things you should try to listen out for are:
Don't worry if you don't pick up on any or all of the points I've made above, it's all about improving our listening skills, and you may pick up on something I haven't... although I may worry if any of you think the recording is so fab we should release it to the world!
On a general point, things you should try to listen out for are:
- endings of words, for example, do you hear Heart or Heart-t-t-t-t... (hint - you hear the latter :-))
- gaps in the music - are they supposed to be there or has the whole section taken a breath at the same time, or come in late?
- are there early entries (note, there is one really noticeable one, well noticeable to me)
- are there any points when a specific part is out of tune (again, there is one really noticeable one).
